(Post 27) Planning- Setting

What is setting?




What do you understand by the term 'setting'?




"The place or type of surroundings where something is positioned or where an event takes place'. However, in terms of film settings its a lot more. For example, the time is an important factor as if it were set in WW2. 





What settings do you want to use in your video? 




For our video we want to portray present day, with a variety of shots in and out of a house located in lowestoft, suffolk. The season will be winter as my group and I thought the season would compliment our ideas. 




Why are you wanting to create these settings?




To add nostalgia, to create the sister-bond and the adventure of youth. 




 How will they create a mile-en-scene?




The settings we have chosen help and compliment out initial idea. For example, playing on the beach and outdoors is more nostalgia than being in perhaps a shopping centre. 




Document organization of your settings e.g screen grabs, emails booking locations etc. 


Here are some screen grabs to show how my group and I organize to meet up and film. we use a messaging app named Whatspp - WhatsApp Messenger - Computer Definition. An ad-free instant messaging service for all major smartphones from WhatsApp Inc., wholly owned by Facebook. Founded in 2009 by Brian Acton and Jan Koum, WhatsApp uses the Internet as an alternative to the SMS text messaging system.

The images above shows how my group and I want our shots and locations to look throughout the music video. For example, as said previously our location will be situated in the country side near the beach. There will also be a change in location whilst we film in the car.

(Post 39) Final, Final idea based on all planning

FINAL IDEA Our final idea hasn't changed from our planning stage. This means that we haven't adapted or reordered anything from when we settled on our idea for our music video, a couple of months ago. Our final idea is two sisters, in fact 17-year old twins, going away to a beach house/holiday house. They want to spend time with each other, cooking, walking on the beach, reading in bed, board games, shopping and other, perhaps, menial tasks and hobbies, but meaningful to them because they're together. They want to get away/run away because they don't live together or speak much. They spend the time at a beach house that belongs to their friend, and don't spend time on their phones at all. There are lots of interesting and cosy rooms to explore with the girls where they can spend their time.
